About St Mary's

Our Church was built in 1885. The Church is a grade 2 listed building, listed because of the unusual cast iron pillars instead of the more conventional stone ones. The cast iron pillars are less intrusive because they are much smaller than stone equivalents would be and give the church a more open feel.

A new hall was built adjoining the Church in 1990. The hall won a Civic award for its design the following year. The hall and entrance to the Church are wheelchair and pushchair friendly and we also have baby changing facilities and disabled toilet. The audio system is recent and includes a loop system for those with impaired hearing.
