Acorn Parent and Toddler Group is an active group for all pre-school children, their parents and carers. The group runs every Thursday in term-time from 9.15-11.00am. With recent new investment, the group has good facilities for all ages from new babies through to those also attending nursery.
To suit all tastes and giving variety, we have equipment for active play such as bikes and a slide, artistic resources, creative and role-playing toys, books and jigsaws. Mid-morning we break refreshments including toast and fruit. [The only occasion when the play-hall is empty as seen above!]. We often finish with music and singing.
Acorn Parent and Toddler Group is supported by St. Mary's church. Volunteers from the church help week by week and from time to time the opportunities arise for joint events. Friendships amongst the parents and carers are highly valued and evening socials are organised from time to time.
There is a small charge each week in order to cover use of the hall, refreshments and resources, but this also covers special occasions such as the Christmas Party and the Summer Outing. Everyone is welcome. We have a good mix of children and they bring mums, dads, grandmas, childminders and friends! Come and see for yourself.
